Alice Reynolds, 82, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Reo, IN. Mrs. Reynolds was born in Ludwigshafen, Germany, the only child of the late Karl and Melanie Winter. After World War II, she came to the United States with her husband, Kenneth Rieves. Following his retirement from the U.S. Army, they developed Kenneth Rieves Data Processing in Owensboro. Mr. Rieves passed away in 1989. She continued to raise her family and has continued to operate the family business. She later met and married Marvin Reynolds. Together they operated Marvin's Fireworks, which she served as secretary-treasurer. A member of the Roman Catholic faith, she was a many faceted woman with a love for life. Her interests included crochet and knitting, fishing, boating and golf, fireworks and ball-room dancing, shopping and traveling. She had been a member of the International Cosmopolitan Club since 1965 and the Coterie Ballroom Dancing Club since 1990.
Surviving are her loving husband of 18 years, Marvin E. Reynolds; her sons, Frank Rieves and his wife Lisa, of Tampa and Kenneth Rieves, Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Ft. Wayne; her step-children Cindy Bartley, Wayne Reynolds, Jackie Bivens, and Laurie Drake, all of Owensboro, and Janice Wilson of Linton, IN; her grandchildren, Kati Rieves and Kenny Rieves.; her step-grandchildren; Nathan Bartley, Adam Bartley, Darren Reynolds, Alexis Hood, Wesley Reynolds, Jordan Reynolds, Jarrod Reynolds, Katherine Seat, Alex Seat, Luke Wilson, Caroline Wilson, Andrew Moore, Erin Moore, Allie Bivens, Tyler Drake, Logan Drake, Jordan Moore, Seth Minton, and Chrissy Bramen; and her step-great-grandchildren, Alexis, Max, Porter, Jaxton, Vance, and Mason.
Services, officiated by Rev. Larry Hostetter, are at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Resurrection cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the St. Benedict Shelter.
