Alice Louise Morton of Owensboro passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Livermore, KY, a daughter of the late Berry and Bertha McManama Green, Mrs. Morton for many years was the owner of Alice's Stout Shop. She had also worked at V.E. Andersen Company and at Sears. She was a member of Good Shepherd Church and was a former member of Order of the Eastern Star Goel 104 at Ensor. She was preceded in death her husband, Garrett Morton in 1991, a son, Larry Johnson in 1993, a grandson, Joe Johnson in 2014, and her sisters Catherine Green Ashby and Mary Jo Johnson.
Mrs. Morton is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Lee of Georgetown, KY: her grandchildren Gary Lee (Denise) of Philpot, Angela Pomeranz (Derek) of Live Oak, FL, Debra Beavin of Ft. Payne, AL and Jenny Johnson (Vickie Fenwick) of Owensboro; her great-grandchildren Rosalyn Haycraft, J.D. Lee, Jacob Lee, Sarah Beavin, Erik Beavin, Aaron Johnson, Hannah Fenwick, Ashley Johnson, and Timothy Johnson; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Morton will be at 12:00 noon Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
