Alice P. Millay

Alice P. Millay, 80, of 302 Catalina Dr., Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at her home. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Thomas Gibson & Alice Jo Davis Pendleton. She was a member of First Christian Church and was retired as the Director of the First Christian Church Day Care. She also had previously owned the Wonderland Nursery and worked at General Electric. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, playing the piano, and caring for children. She was an organizer for the annual reunions for the 860th. Army Engineers Aviation Battalion in which her husband was a member. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Victoria Clark and Tommie Pendleton.

Surviving is her husband of 59 years, James L. Millay, Sr. and their five children, Linda Powe & husband Pat Barker of Owensboro, Zenda Johnson of Louisville, James L. Millay, Jr. of Bowling Green, Jeff & wife Mary Jo Millay of Owensboro, and Judy Church Davis & husband Dan Davis of Ft. Branch, In., 12 grandchildren, Danny Powe, Jim Powe, Emmy McDonald, Summer Johnson, Ben Johnson, Chad Millay, Jessa Millay, Alissa Boone, Amy Millay, Aaron Church, Jeffrey Church, and Cori Church, five great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Billy (Louise) Spencer of Owensboro.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, July 14, at First Christian Church with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 11:00 A.M. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home.
