Alice O. Alfont

November 30, 1930 — October 23, 2012

Alice Orttenburger Alfont of Owensboro, KY died suddenly on October 23 while visiting family in Duluth, GA. She was born in Richmond, KY. Alice leaves behind her older brother, Clark (Margaret) Orttenburger; two daughters, Alice (Pat) Putman and Elizabeth Cox; a grandson, James Patrick Putman; two granddaughters, Dagny (Matthew) Putman Olivares and Ashley Martin; a great-granddaughter, Angelica; and three great-grandsons, Dylan, Isaiah, and Carter. Alice was pre-deceased by her parents, Charles and Alice (Kellogg) Orttenburger; two husbands, William Greenwell and Cecil Alfont; and her beloved son, James William Cox. Alice loved to attend services at Trinity Episcopal Church, volunteer at Dismas House, make quilts for her family, cheer for the UK Wildcats and KWC Panthers, and was a Kentucky Colonel. Alice was a Daughter of the King and services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Owensboro on Monday at 10:00 am; visitation will take place on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 at Glenn Funeral Home.
