Alexander C. Pence

January 10, 1918 — November 8, 2002

Alexander ''Alex'' Pence, 84, of 3026 Daviess St, Owensboro, died Friday, November 8, 2002 at the Hermitage Nursing and Rehbilitation Center. The Big Clifty, KY native was retired from Glenmore Distillery where he worked as a warehouser and pumper for 38 years. A member of First Christian Church, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, baseball, crossword puzzles, bluegrass music, woodworking, and gardening. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Bratcher Pence; a son, Mike Pence of Louisville; three daughters, Mary Lou DeBruler, Becky McDaniel and Sharon Embry all of Owensboro; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 11:30 A.M. Monday, November 11, 2002 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-8 P.M. on Sunday and after 9 A.M. on Monday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Dr., Owensboro, KY 42301.
