Alberta Payne

Alberta Payne, 89, of Red Banks Bursing Home, Henderson, KY died Sunday, July 21, 2002 at Henderson Methodist Hospital. The Rosine, KY native was retired from the Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital where she was a Nurse's Assistant. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in White Plains, KY and enjoyed sewing, working in the yard, gardening and flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy Lee Payne in August 1985 and a son, James D. Payne in 1995.

She is survived by two sons, Rev. Ronald Payne of Henderson and Rev. Ellis Payne of White Plains; a daughter, Mernia Mae Roberts of Lewisport; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Florence Newton of Roseville.

Funeral services are 10 A.M. Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-8 P.M. on Tuesday, July 23 and after 8:30 A.M. on Wednesday.
