Albert G. Rauscher, Jr. (Al) peacefully lost his battle with cancer on December 16, 2014. Al was born on November 26, 1952 to the late Albert G. Rauscher, Sr. and the late Eleanor (Zillner) Rauscher in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
Al attended and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1971. He also enlisted in the United States Air Force that same summer. Al was Honorably discharged from the United States Air Force in June of 1976 but in 1977 he rejoined the Air Force Reserve of General Bill Mitchell Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Al returned from the United States Air Reserves in 1992 at the rank of Tsgt.
Al married Jeanette (Jill) Lewis in July of 1977. The couple moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin that same summer, where Al worked for the Oshkosh Truck Corp. In 1992 the couple moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona where Al worked for the then Laidlow Waste as a mechanic. In 1998, the couple moved to Owensboro, Kentucky where Al worked for McElroy Metal in Lewisport, Kentucky. Al retired in July of 2013.
Al enjoyed life and had many interests, he flew airplanes, he owned a boat and spent endless hours on the waters in the Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Lake Havasu, Arizona areas, Al bowled, played golf, shot skeet, enjoyed taking cruises to the sunny warm Caribbean. He enjoyed working on his lawn and relaxing in his backyard pool. Al was a Wisconsin sports fan, he followed the Milwaukee Brewers, the Wisconsin Badgers and of course, the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed spending time with family, the neighbors and all his special friends and his dogs, Bailey and Lambeau.
Al is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jeanette (Jill Lewis) Rauscher, his two dogs , Bailey and Lambeau. One brother, Joseph Rauscher (Lucille) and their two daughters, Stephanie (Kelvin) Parker and Heidi Jo (Trevor) Colon, all of North Las Vegas, NV. One aunt and uncle, Gloria (Rauscher) and Donald Gerk of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. One uncle, Norman (Skip) Roe, also of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. One aunt, Joan (Zillner) Stillwell and her daughter, Kelly, both of Crivits, Wisconsin. Numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many, many special friends.
Visitation will be at the Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory on Monday, December 22 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Full military service and burial will be at the Owensboro Memorial Gardens cemetery in the Field of Honor at 10:00 Tuesday, December 23.
