Albert A. "Pop" Hofmann, 86, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2015 at his home surrounded by all his family. He was born December 15, 1928 in Jefferson Co., Ky to the late Karl and Mary Byrne Hofmann. He was retired as a salesman with Field Packing Co. and was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Albert was a U. S. Navy veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid U. K. basketball fan and enjoyed playing scrabble. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and also loved his dog Rascal very much. Also preceding him in death was a son, Thomas L. Hofmann on November 5, 1970, a grandson, Benjamin Hofmann on February 18, 1999, a granddaughter, Amber Hofmann on July 3, 2014, and two brothers, his twin Father Ray Hofmann in May of 2013 and Karl Hofmann.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Joan Marie Hofmann, four sons, Mark A. Hofmann of Bonita Springs, FL, John R. Hofmann, Eric M. (Andria) Hofmann, and Donald J. (Kerri) Hofmann, all of Owensboro, two daughters, Anne M. (Scott) Baumgardner of Owensboro and Julie M. (Bill) Boyd of Owensboro, 20 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, a sister, Mary Klueber of Louisville, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 12 Noon Thursday, December 10, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday with prayers at 7:30 P.M. and from 10:00-11:30 A.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
