Albert R. Brown

Albert R. Brown "Sonny", 82, of Owensboro passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013. He was born in Daviess County on February 17, 1931 to the late James and Margaret Brown.

Sonny provided for his family by working as a concrete finisher for Thompson Homes until his retirement. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War and was a survivor of Yalu River Massacre. You would often find Sonny during the summer months fishing at Rough River or tending to his treasured gun collection. Above all Sonny enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Wellman "Tootsie" Brown.

Surviving is his wife of 33 years, Theresa Hamilton Brown; a son, Ray Brown Jr. of Reed; eleven stepchildren, Jim Hamilton, Mike Hamilton, Debbie Dickens, Vicki Chapman, Connie Smith, Jan Rogers, Brenda Payne, Karen Blakeslee, Patricia Phillips, Rose Johnson and Angie Kotarek; two grandchildren, Billy Ray Brown and James Robert Brown; one great-grandson, Billy Brown.

Memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Hospice of Western Kentucky.
