Agnes Oost Purcell

Mrs. Agnes Oost Purcell, 90, of Owensboro died Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at Harborside Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born August 3, 1915 to the late Gertie Ray and Sophie May Morgan Oost in Daviess County. She retired from operating Purcell Day Care Center after forty years. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, the Womens Ministry at her church, and she was the Secretary for her church for twenty four years. In her free time she enjoyed oil painting and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband of seventy four years, James Rex Purcell, in 2004, her sister, Helen Cambron, in 1984, and her brothers, Melvin Oost in 1972 and Rev. Ruebin Clester Oost in 1987.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sherry Purcell of Owensboro, her daughter and son-in-law, Kearron and Darryl Morris of Rockport, IN, her granddaughters, Carrie Magana of Aurora, IL, Tracy Stewart of Owensboro, and Andrea Ward Madding of Seattle, WA, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2005 at Glenn Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Madding officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Brushy Fork Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 30, 2005 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
