Agnes Marie Herr Luckett

August 24, 1920 — September 2, 2009

Agnes M. Herr Luckett, 89, of 2006 Clinton Place East, Owensboro, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Chandler, Indiana to the late Edward F. and Frances A. (Titzer) Herr. She was a graduate of Millersburg High School, and Lockyear Business College. Agnes retired as the office manager of Owensboro Catholic High School, and was co-owner of Leisure Hut Sporting Goods and Luckett Construction Company. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church where she served in the Altar Society, was past Regent of the Daughters of Isabella, and a past member of Owensboro Quilters. She loved quilting, crafts, making afghans, playing cards and baking.

In addition to her parents, a daughter; Linda M. Luckett preceded her in death in 1948, a son; Robert H. Luckett in 1989, as well as three brothers.

Surviving is her husband of 67 years; Henry T. Luckett, and her children; Thomas E. (Deborah) Luckett, James M. (Alison) Luckett, Paul J. (Earlene) Luckett, Martha J. Luckett, all of Owensboro, and Barbara A. (and partner Lorraine Marrese ) Luckett of Simpsonville, Ky., grandchildren; Aimee Rives, Kimberly Luckett, Jason Luckett, Paul Luckett Jr., Patricia Mullaly, Dustin Luckett, Holly Scott, Ashley Sands, step-grandchildren; Chelsea and Darby Meythaler, nine great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law; Jackie Farley of Denver, CO., and sisters-in-law; Marian Herr of Chandler, IN., and Imogene Luckett of Evansville, IN., as well as several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009 at St. Stephen Cathedral with Fr. John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. with Daughters of Isabella prayers at 5:30 p.m. and parish prayers at 6:30 p.m., also visitation will be Saturday after 8:30 a.m. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Passionist Nuns Monastery.
