Agnes Quiggins Burks

Agnes Quiggins Burks, 94, of Owensboro died Friday, July 6, 2007 at Harborside Healthcare. Born in Cloverport, a daughter of the late Lula Rhodes Quiggins and Nelson Henry Quiggins, she retired as a chief operator from Bell South after 45 years of service. Mrs. Quiggins was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church and enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends. She was an avid gardener and a gourmet cook. Her husband, Robert Burks, her brother, Maurie Quiggins,her sister Corrine McCormick, and a nephew, Joe Tanner, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Miller of Owensboro; her nieces, Sherrie Millott of Sarasota, FL and Pat Tanner of Owensboro; her friend and caregiver, Patty Stites of Owensboro; and several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Services are 1:00 p.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Ohio Valley, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY 42301.
