Adrian F. Hendrix, 78, of Masonville, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born December 28, 1930, to the late Forest and Lula Rhodes Hendrix in Ohio County. He taught school in a one room schoolhouse for one year, was a Navy Radioman Veteran of the Korean War, was Senior Vice-President with Cardinal Federal where he worked for 30 years, and was a member of Masonville Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon for 49 years. He taught Sunday School for many years, and had taught the Class of Stephen for 29 years. He was a 50 year member of the Ensor Masonic Lodge #729, and he enjoyed fishing, gardening, photography, trains, woodworking, and being with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Carolyn Hendrix; his daughters, Dana Copeland and her husband, Jim of Mt. Sterling, KY, Sandi Jones and her husband, Mickey of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren, Nathan, Rachael, and Hannah Jones, and two step-grandchildren, David Copeland and Mindy Bachmeier; two sisters, Gail Hamilton and her husband, Bill of Bloomington, IN, and Lillian Taylor of Megan; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, at the Masonville Baptist Church with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and after 10:00 AM Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Masonville Baptist Church, 6601 Hwy 231, Utica, KY 42376.
