Ada Ann Payne Hodgkins

March 28, 1908 — January 12, 2007

Ada Ann Payne Hodgkins, 98, of Owensboro, died January 12, 2006 at the Carmel Home. She was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and she enjoyed walking, working in her yard, dancing, sewing, crocheting, and watching the Lawrence Welk Show. The Daviess Co. native was born March 28, 1908 to the late Marshall T. and Mary Jane Raley Payne.

In addition to her parents, those preceding her in death include her husband, Philip Hodgkins, and all of her brothers and sisters, leaving her as the last of her generation for many years.

Survivors include her children, Phyllis A. Peter of Apple Valley, MN, John P. Hodgkins of Whitesville, James T. Hodgkins of Owensboro, and Mary Jane Rudisill of Newburgh, IN; her grandchildren, Andy, Ben, and Brian Peter, Ken Hodgkins, Laura Carmon, Elaine DeLacey, Amy Stone, Julie Schuster, Jimmy, Stefani, and Chris Hodgkins, and Erin Muehlenbein, and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 15, 2006 at the Carmel Home with Father Maury Riney officiating. Burial will immediately follow in St. Marys Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, with prayers at 5:00, and again on Monday from 8:30 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in the form of donations to the Carmel Home.
