Abbielene Layman Griffin

Abbielene ''Abbie'' Layman Griffin, 90, formerly of 4171 Pleasant Valley Rd, Owensboro, died Monday, July 22, 2002 at the Ohio County Hospital. The Daviess County, KY native had worked for the Owensboro Board of Education in the cafeteria of Southern Junior High School. She was a member of South Hampton Baptist Church where she taught Adult Sunday School for many years.

Her husband of 64 years, William Chandler Griffin, died in 1996.

She is survived by a son, Donald Griffin of Philpot; a daughter, Alicia Campbell of Fordsville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday, July 23 and after 9 A.M. on Wednesday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Kentucky Baptist Home for Children or the Boulware Center.
