A. Josetta Coomes, 84, of 6188 Aull Road, Philpot, died Friday, August 10, 2001 at her home. The Daviess County native was a homemaker and a member of the St Lawrence Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, canning and being with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, J.B. Coomes; four sons, Thomas I. Coomes and William E. Coomes of Owensboro, Robert A. Coomes of Lewisport, and David Coomes of Rockport, Ind.; five daughters, Sr. Marie Joseph Coomes of Mount Mount, Mildred A. Casebier of Louisville, Lois M. Duke of Owensboro, Margaret C. Jackson of Owensboro, and Therese R. Roby of Philpot; 22 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Wright of Owensboro.
Services are 2:30 P.M. Monday, August 13, 2001 at St Lawrence Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 8 P.M. Sunday and from 9 to 11:30 A.M. Monday at the Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 7 P.M. on Sunday at the funeral home.
